LIVING IN THE DOLCE VITA IN CALABRIA

Italy has always been one of the most desirable and therefore one of the most expensive places to buy a holiday home

Until now, that is !

Our Calabrian properties are the best value for money around, and with a Pease of Mind Charter, we do not just promise, we guarantee that buying your dream home in Bella Italia will be easy and stress free.

Calabria, Italy's southern most region where the toe meets Sicily, is where our properties are being developed. Unspoiled, idyllic and one of the best-kept secrets in Italy. Calabria is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with perfect weather year-round and a relaxed, Italian way of life.

It's all about location.

In the sun-drenched south of Italy the tiny coastal resort of Bianco is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Bianco and surrounding areas delivers the true taste of Italy, and flavours of a colourful past reflected in the street parades and parties.

There are spectacular wine festivals, open-air theatres and celebrations of the natural world. All our properties are a short distance of the town, by the beach and surrounded by picturesque woodlands. This is peace and tranquillity, with some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole of Italy.

Bianco and the neighbouring town of Bovalino both have a good selection of bars, café's and restaurants. For a traditional dinning experience there are Italian trattorias or pizzerias, while keen cooks will find that Bianco has the finest ingredients imaginable available from well stocked supermarkets and stores. Calabrese cuisine includes a wide variety of colourful vegetables (This is one of Italy's main agricultural centres) so vegetarians will not be disappointed. The town has a chemist, beauty salons, an Internet café, boutiques, butchers and a delicatessen.

Bianco is a wine-making area and Greco di Bianco wines are famous all over Italy. Bovalino has a wider selection of bars, restaurants and shops, including a new shopping centre. As could be expected, seafood is a speciality in both towns.

The area is also famous for sweet treats, or as they known locally, I dolci. There are medical centres, post offices and banking facilities in Bianco and Bovalino.

A few minutes further along the coast are the towns of Locri and Siderno. These pretty and vibrant towns are close to interesting archaeological sites including Greco Roman amphitheatres and temples. Locri is about 20 minutes away from Bianco.

Calabria: Italy's Best Kept Secret.

Bianco is close to the stunning Aspromonte national park, sites of ancient Greco-Roman ruins, perfect sandy beaches and the clearest aquamarine waters in Italy. Combine all this with glorious southern sunshine and in makes Calabria an undiscovered paradise.

Calabria was once part of the Greek Empire and then colonised by the Romans, Byzantines, French and Spanish, finally becoming part of the Italian Republic in 1861. Each invading population has a strong influence on the Calarese culture and cuisine, and that is precisely what makes the region so special and different.

Famous for having the most flavoursome and spicy food in Italy (everywhere you go you will see stings of dried red spicy peppers hanging in shops), the area is also well known for seafood, lamb, capers, figs, and olives, all of which influence the local cooking. Calabria is also famous for its cheeses, almond, citrus and bergamot trees and pasta all'arrabbiata, roughly translated as angry pasta, due to the heat of the hot pepper-packed tomato sauce!
